Your stifled embraces
and my sullied dreams,
all, smell of this stuffy spring air.
tear-stains etched on my rosy cheeks,
defeat is all around me tonight, she reeks.
As life pulls me in all directions, I just emptily stare,
at the only route I wish I could take, but will not dare.
For Frost it was the road not taken,
for me it’s the one feared,
that I wish I could take.
And I probably would just take it,
if my whole future wasn’t at stake.
For who wouldn’t want
a white picket fence,
and a loving family,
with children’s laughter
filling every room in a house;
if it didn’t mean putting their trust
in someone else, completely,
making them feel as tiny as a mouse?!
Who wouldn’t chase after love,
and embrace their dreams,
if that didn’t mean
they might all suddenly fall apart?
And who wouldn’t fight to the end,
if they could understand that,
the end wasn’t really an end,
but just a new chapter to start!?
